Coolest Exotic Dogs
We are all familiar with the most popular dog breeds in the world.
Exotic dogs are a type of dog that is not purebred. They may have a mix of any number of breeds or be the result of crossbreeding. They are also called mixed breeds.
The most common exotic dogs are the Shiba Inu, Leonberger, Borzoi, Saluki, Tibetan Mastiff, and Shar-Pei. Exotic dog breeds have been around for centuries and have been used to guard livestock, hunt prey, or even be a family pets.
Shiba Inu
Shiba Inu is also an ancient Japanese dog breed that was bred to hunt small game such as rabbits, hares, boars, foxes, weasels, badgers, etc., but they have been used as family pets since World War II because they don’t shed as other dogs do. The Shiba Inu has a small, dense, double coat that is difficult to groom but sheds very little under normal circumstances.
The Shiba Inu is one of the most intelligent dogs in the world, and they are known for their independence and strong temperament. There are two official registries of the Shiba Inu in Japan, one for the kennel club and another for the independent association. The Shiba Inu is a small to medium-sized dog with a large head, slightly rounded eyes, and no visible white.
The nose is black and has wrinkles when excited or breathing hard. The coat is dense and double with an undercoat and a coarse top coat, but they do not shed much throughout the year. Their tail is carried in a natural curve with the hair on the underside of the tail twisted over the top. The Shiba Inu has a large, hard skull and well-developed muscles for speed and agility.

Basenji:
Basenji is the only type of dog with no other breed in its lineage. Basenji is one of the most intelligent breeds of dogs in America, and they don’t bark very much, so they are great if you’re looking for a quieter pet.
They can make a good companion for someone living in an urban or suburban area who is misunderstood and not given the same level of love and care as other breeds.
Borzoi:
Borzoi is a type of greyhound that has a distinctive white mask. Its coat is usually rust-colored with black markings. Borzois are often mistaken for wolf-dogs but are descendants of the now-extinct Caucasian Ovcharka or Caucasian Wolfdog. These dogs have been used as hunting dogs and guard dogs in Russia since ancient times. They were bred to hunt rabbits, wolves, and foxes. They weigh from 45 to 65 pounds. They are moderately active and are good with children, but they should not be kept with small animals because they can become aggressive.
Shar-Pei:
The Shar-Pei is a spitz type of dog with prominent wrinkles, which gives it the name “Shar Pei.” It came originally from China, bred as a herding dog to protect valuable livestock and property. The dog was brought to Europe in the 1800s and produced as a fighting dog. It is now sometimes called a “Chinese Lion Dog.” These dogs are robust and have been known to maul sheep, goats, and sometimes children when overexcited. They weigh up to 50 pounds. They are good with children but not small animals due to their size and energy level.
Leonberger:
Leonberger is a giant dog breed from Germany. They are known for their beautiful, long, and silky coats that can come in various colors. Leonberger’s are one of the most popular breeds in the world. They are also among the few breeds with an American and European club.
The breed was created in the 1800s by crossing an English Mastiff and a boarhound. The species is friendly and gentle, making them an ideal family dog. Due to their size, they are also known as watchdogs. The size of the German Shepherd Dog is typically between 27 to 29 inches at the withers but can vary depending on the sex of the dog.
Saluki:
Saluki is an ancient breed from Persia and Arabia known for its graceful gait and long, silky coat. The Saluki is a sighthound which means they hunt by sight rather than scent. They are speedy dogs and can reach speeds up to 65 mph when running! The Saluki is intelligent, loyal, and affectionate and will not respond well to being left alone for long periods.
The Saluki came to North America in the early 1800s and was kept as a family dog and hunting companion. The Saluki is also known as the “greyhound of the desert” because they are fast runners that hunt by sight, just like greyhounds. The Saluki’s long silky coat protects them from the sun, sand, and wind.
Tibetan Mastiff:
The Tibetan Mastiff is a large breed of dog from Central Asia. It is one of the most expensive breeds in the world, and it can cost up to $1,000 for a single puppy! The Tibetan Mastiff is known for its strength and loyalty, but it can also be quite aggressive sometimes.
Xoloitzcuintli:
The Xoloitzcuintli, or Xolo for short, is an ancient Mexican breed that has been around since before the Aztec empire existed! It was initially used as a guard dog and as a hunting companion by ancient civilizations in Mexico. Today they are still used as guard dogs in some parts of Mexico and are also very popular as show dogs internationally.
Italian Greyhounds:
